June 2013 Random Summer Fun and Art Camp

Summer was nice.  Here Jaylee and Stella are relaxing while we have a fire outside.

Jaylee also had fun this summer teaching Jack to do tricks for treats.

Sawyer and Morgan were hanging out watching cartoons together.

Jaylee and Marshall participated in Art Camp this summer.  It was a 1 week program.  They went to camp for 4 hours a day Monday thru Friday.  On the last day they received a certificate and put on an art show.

Marshall loved art camp, but he was a little nervous because he knew he was going to have to get up in front of everyone.

This was a big deal for Marshall.  He can be very shy, and afraid to try new things.  This art program really helped to boost his confidence.

Here is Jaylee getting her certificate

Showing off their art work at the art show.

Art camp was lots of fun!  And they can't wait to do it again next year.

Camping with The Boyers

June 16, 2013

Our first camping trip of the summer, was fun.  Interesting at times, but definitely fun.  We joined our friends the Boyers which added to our fun.

Kim and Morgan

Our campsite was right across from a big pond, so the kids had fun wading and fishing.

Sawyer wasn't too keen on going in the water, but he had fun on the edge.

And what's camping without marshmallows!!

Jaylee and Marshall caught lots of water salamanders.

The best part about this campground was that there was a really awesome beach.

The group minus me and Sawyer

And then there were people handing out FREE ice cream cones on the beach!  WHAAAT...
Can life get any better...

Afer the beach we came back to camp and did a little fishing.

Jaylee caught a fish!  Each time the kids caught a fish we made them pose by it

That's my girl, not afraid of trying to get the fish off of the hook!

Marshall catching and posing with his fish!  He wasn't as thrilled as Jaylee was.  LOL

Since Jaylee was catching most of the fish, the guys told her to kiss it.  And she DID!!

Getting the babies in their jammies

Watermelon and marshmallows.  Camp FOOD!

We survived the night!  It was my bright idea to not bring the pack and play....
That didn't go over well.  A lose toddler in the tent.  Oh well lesson learned.  He eventually fell asleep.

Here the little ones were exploring around our camp site.  Sawyer kept saying "Cmon' baby Cmon"  and he would wave her on.  He refuses to call her Morgan, he calls her baby.

All and all, it was a great trip!  We had fun and lots of time to relax and spend time with our family and friends.  I still remember all of the times I went camping as a kid, and those times stick out so vividly in my mind.  I hope the it's the same for my kids.  Like I've said before, it's the little things in life that matter most.

Dinosaur Land

May 19, 2013

We took the kids to Dinosaur Land for the day.  Our friend Sandra met us with her boys Mason and Shaun.  To the average adult, it's pretty corny, but the kids LOVED it!  So to keep us occupied (the adults) we took some silly photos...  I hope you aren't easily offended...

Sawyer wasn't too sure about the dinosaurs

It really doesn't take much to entertain our kids, and ourselves!  Plus it always great to spend time with such great friends!
