I am so behind on this blog!! I keep up on Sawyer's day to day blog but I've fallen a little behind on this one.
We had a bit of a scare with Saywer at the end of May.
He started having this twitching, body jerks that looked like seizures. I took him to the pediatrician who saw them first hand. He refered us to a neurologist.
We got him home he was playing in his bassinet. He did one of his jerks, then his eyes turned into a blank stare and he fell over. He came to, just a few seconds later and started to cry. It scared us to the point that we took him to the E.R.
We couldn't wait the 5 days before going to the neurologist.
They hooked him up to an EEG machine for 24 hours to make sure that he wasn't having seizures.
The good news is that they found no evidence of seizures in the hospital.
His lactic acid levels are very high so the neurologist is sending us to Children's Hospital in Washington DC On July 23rd to find out why this is so high and to see if this is what is causing the jerking.
He is still having them, but they seem to be more mild here lately.
