"Sometimes you pick your friends, sometimes they pick you."

June 1, 2013

Jaylee has been danceing with Sydney, Grace, Allison and Madison since they were all 3 years old!  If you scroll back through the blog you will see that.  These girls have a bond that I can't quite describe.  They very rarely fight, bicker or talk bad about each other.  They are all full of laughter, love and friendship for each other.  It's so neat to watch them grow up together.  Jaylee is so lucky to have such a great group of friends, and I am just as lucky because their Mom's are pretty cool too!!  My dance Mom's have become such an important part of my life.  They have become such amazing friends, sometimes more like family.  There is never ill talk, gossip (about each other), or negativeity towards each other.  There is only friendship, support, laughter and sometimes tears between us.

I never realized as an adult how hard it can be to make and maintain friendships!  Once you have kids, jobs and life in general, it makes for very little time and friendships tend to be put on the back burner.  Time passes, and friendships can suffer.  I'm naturally a loner, because I was an only child.  I'm not shy, but naturally more quiet then most.  I am most definitely an observer and it takes some time for me to open up.  Once I'm warmed up though, watch out I am a goof ball and most always a ditz.  These ladies love me for all of my weird quirks and my hoarding of animals... haha

But with Jaylee going to dance class two times a week for well over an hour, it makes for some really nice bonding time!  So I just want to thank them for being AWESOME!  Since I am so behind on my blog, there have been new friendships formed as well, which is even more awesome.  And while I am at it, getting all emotional,  I am blessed with really amazing friends in general!  Some live close by and some live far away, but each and every one of my friends (you know who you are) mean the world to me!!

So now on that note, here are pictures from Jaylee's dance recital from June 1, 2013

The Dirty Girl Mud Run

April 27, 2013 - The Boob Warriors!!!

Most of the Lederhouse girls enrolled in the Dirty Girl Mud Run in Virginia Beach.  This mud run was a charity event that raised money for The Breast Cancer Society.  What was most amazing was how many of the family came along just to cheer us on and support us!  It was so much fun, and for such a great cause!  Every one of us did it for our own reasons that are close to our hearts.  Russ's Aunt Janet is a breast cancer survivor and she finished the whole run.  She did every obstacle!

For me the loss of my Grandmother and Russ's mother were my reasons, but this event was also my very first 5K event!  I ran the whole thing, except for a few areas where the mud was really deep and slippery.  But that was such a big deal for me.

So here are some pictures of us spending time together during this wonderful event!

Moments in April 2013

I caught these fun shots of Russ and Sawyer.  Sawyer would scream with laughter and say "Again, again DaDa"  It's these little teeny moments, that mean the most to me....

Both Marshall and Jaylee were doing wonderful in school!  They were both in new schools and adjusting wonderfully.  Marshall was in K4 at SVCA and Jaylee in 1st grade at Boyce Elementary.

Marshall is our shy one.  He's not always shy, but he doesn't really like getting up in front of people.  He gets embarrassed easily.  But he did a great job singing with his class at school!

Jaylee got the Great Kids Award at school!  It's an award that recognizes students who are nice to others and show good citizenship at school.  She was so proud and so were we!

We had some family visiting from out of town and they brought their dog Patrick with them.  He is Huge, but so so sweet.  After breakfast we noticed that both Patrick and Sawyer were missing, and this is where we found them!

Sawyer and Morgan enjoying the beautiful weather outside!  It's so fun watching them grow up together.  They are only 1 month apart.  I was always close to my cousins growing up, so it's nice to have that for our kids too.

Kissing cousins!

Spring always brings peeps!  Our first experience raising meat birds on our farmette.  Also once the weather starts getting nice, it's nice to spend more time outside with the animals too!

Joy's baby Noel is growing up so fast!  She looks just like her Momma.  Her twin brother Jack is close to his Momma too, but these two seem to have an extra special bond.  They are always together.
